ONSLAUGHT: 'In Search Of Sanity' Reissue Now Available
October 12, 2006ONSLAUGHT's classic "In Search of Sanity" album, which entered the U.K. national charts at No. 36 upon its release in the spring of 1989, is being reissued through Plastic Head.
Drawing heavily on early-day METALLICA, with former GRIM REAPER singer Steve Grimmett at the mic, ONSLAUGHT's "In Search of Sanity" opens with the haunting strains of the mind-numbing "Asylum", a five-minute instrumental of disturbing rubber room ambient sounds. What follows is old-school Bay Area mayhem, as ONSLAUGHT unleash heavy hitters such as "Blood Upon The Ice" and "Power Play". "Welcome To Dying", a slow, yet grinding number, which builds as it peaks, is the most ambitious song from the disc, consuming almost thirteen minutes of air play. Tossed into the mix is a cover of the mighty AC/DC's legendary '70s riveting anthem "Let There Be Rock".
